Amazon has chosen sites in New York City and Northern Virginia for its new headquarters. The New York office will be located in Queens. The Northern Virginia site will be in the National Landing section of Arlington.
Amazon also announced Nashville will become a new “Center of Excellence” for its operations business, responsible for customer fulfilment. It’s a move set to create more than 5,000 jobs, while about 25,000 jobs will open across New York and Arlington.
“We are excited to build new headquarters in New York City and Northern Virginia,” said Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, in a prepared statement. “These two locations will allow us to attract world-class talent that will help us to continue inventing for customers for years to come. The team did a great job selecting these sites, and we look forward to becoming an even bigger part of these communities.”
