Poetry Society funding pulled following fall out

A recent row amongst leading lights in the UK Poetry Society has seen funding pulled.

Arts Council England has confirmed it will withhold public money  until concerns "around governance, management and leadership" are addressed.

A falling out between director Judith Palmer (pictured) and Fiona Sampson, editor of the society's Poetry Review is at the heart of the dispute.

When trustees backed Sampson by suggesting she work from home, Palmer resigned and threatened legal action.
